Welcome to Mobile Shepherd. We design and manufacture Motion Detector Alarm Systems. The units are useful as:
– a virtual fence/gate for sheep or goats, and keeping livestock where you want them to be
– an automatic “doorbell” for the farm driveway
– an alarm in the tool shed
– a virtual, portable farm gate
– to deter rabbits from the veggie patch

How does our Motion Detector Unit operate?
Our Mobile Shepherd Motion Detector Alarm is manufactured on farm, in the Central West of NSW. There have been many prototypes along the way, and after consultation with users and farmers, we now have the MK3 units.
A solar panel powers the unit – there is a back up battery so it will operate night and day, or under cloud. Modified sensor units detect the heat signatures of animals, humans and vehicles, and the alarm sound comes from a VERY LOUD 109db beeper.
Easy to add remote cabling if you’d like a flashing light as well as or instead of the alarm, or perhaps a timer if you want to restrict the active times. The video stars our cat Ash, giving a good demonstration of how most creatures respond to the sound of a loud reversing horn.
